Sheedy received an Independent Spirit Award, Best Female Actor for her performance in the role of Lisa Cholodenko in High Art. Sheedy was wed to David Lansbury (the nephew of Angela Lansbury) on April 12,1992. He is also the son Edgar Lansbury, who was originally the producer of Godspell.
